Planning a Session

• Tell us about your project

  This is the first step to ensuring a smooth and successful session. Whether it’s a solo recording, rock band, orchestral arrangement, voiceover or other project, we want to make the necessary preparations. Learning about your project allows us to plan the resources and services efficiently to make it a success.

• Who is involved

  Other than the recording musicians, are there others who are part of your project? Do you have a Producer? Do you need a producer? Are you shooting video? Would you like us to shoot video? Do you need other musicians? We can assist you in finding qualified professionals to fill these roles.

• Bringing people to the studio (location)

  Who is attending the session? Knowing who is attending the session allows us minimize setup time on the day of your session. Communication is the key to locking down a great session. If it is an off- site location recording session, visiting the location ahead of time will allow us to select the right gear for the job.

• Goals and expectations

  Having a clear set of goals is essential to a great session. Understanding the vision for your project and the resources you’re investing allows us to let you make the most of your project efficiently and effectively.

• Instruments and Gear

  It is important to make sure any needed session gear is studio ready. We have an assortment of instruments if you need, or would like, to use our instruments please let us know and we will have them ready when you arrive. Our Yamaha C7 piano is on a regular tuning schedule, but if tuning prior to your project is specifically requested, we will need time to make those arrangements. Remember to bring extra strings, heads, sticks, reeds, batteries, or any similar essentials for the session.

• Other stuff

  If there is other equipment or special instruments required for your session, please let us know. We will insure those out-sourced items are booked for delivery and return.  If this is a remote session, we need to organize the right gear for your location to assure set up and take down in the time allotted for your project at that location.
